HYDERABAD,
OCT. 18.
Tamil Nadu recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win against Kerala in the South Zone women's hockey tournament at Gachibowli Hockey Complex here on Monday. Winger P. Aruna put Tamil Nadu ahead in the eighth minute through a field goal.
In the second session, striker Akhila came up with a goal for Kerala in the 43rd minute. However, Tamil Nadu fought back well to score the match-winner through Aruna again in the 52nd minute.
In another match, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were locked in a one-all draw. Prasanna Lakshmi gave the home team lead in the fifth minute through a penalty-corner conversion. But, in the second session, Nansi struck for Tamil Nadu.
