Leko in lead

BRISSAGO (SWITZERLAND), OCT. 18. The Dannemann World classical chess championship has gone down to the wire. Vladimir Kramnik of Russia needs to win the 14th and final round game to retain the title, while his challenger, Hungary's Peter Leko requires a draw. Monday was a rest day.

The Russian has white in the final game, so his chances cannot be ruled out, though Leko admittedly has a less difficult task. The Hungarain leads 7-6, after drawing Game 13 on Sunday in an impressive manner.
