St. Peter's wins

DINDIGUL, OCT. 19. St. Peter's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kodaikanal, lifted the Vignesh Sports Trophy defeating SDA Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Dindigul, by seven wickets in the last match of the Dindigul District Cricket Association inter-school cricket league here recently.

St. Peter's School and Government Higher Secondary School, Sithayankottai, finished on top with 32 points each but St. Peter's emerged champion as it had won six matches and the Sithayankottai school had won only five.

The scores: SDAM HSS 84 for seven in 20 overs (R. Ranjithkumar three for 18) lost to St. Peter's MHSS 86 for three in 14.1 overs.

Victory MHSS, Chinnalapatti, 90 for nine in 23 overs lost to Govt HSS, Sithayankottai, 91 for nine in 18.5 overs.

St. Peter's MHSS 77 in 14.2 overs (Abdul Rahim five for 25) bt Thambithottam HSS 67 in 12.3 overs (R. Ranjithkumar four for six, S. Vinoth four for nine).

Final standings: 1. St. Peter's MHSS, Kodaikanal 32 pts; 2. Govt HSS, Sithayankottai 32 pts; 3. Thambithottam HSS, Gandhigram, 30 pts.
