Heavy rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, OCT. 19. Northeast Moonson has been active over Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and costal Karnataka and a few places over Rayalaseema, souther interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh and dry weather prevailed over Telengana and north interior Karnataka.

Palani (Dindigul dt.) and Mancompu (Alapuzha Dt.) recorded heavy of 8 and 7 cms respectively.

Karwar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius in the region and Hyderabad Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north interior Karnataka.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala during the next 48 hours.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: No significant change.
