Swantons qualifies for main phase

KOCHI, OCT. 19. Spinner Aravind Varma (3-22) and State player Sebastian Antony (50) helped Swantons thrash host Tripunithura CC by 97 runs in the first phase final of the 54th Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Tuesday. The victory helped Swantons qualify to the tournament's main phase which begins on October 24.

The scores: Swantons CC 217 for eight in 45 overs (Sebastian Antony 50, Vimal Raj 43, Nithin 33 n.o., Sreekanth three for 28) bt Tripunithura CC 120 in 22.4 overs (Haridas 62, Aravind Varma three for 22).
