Bagalkot HC beats Leo HC
BANGALORE,
OCT. 19.
Bagalkot Hockey Club beat Leo Hockey Club 4-3 in the State `C' division league hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium here on Tuesday. Bagalkot HC got off to a 2-0 lead through penalty corner conversions by Sidda Joshi and A. Yogesh.
Leo's Manikandan kept his team in the hunt, but Mahantesh Jakati restored Bagalkot's two-goal lead. Sujit Alwyn scored again for Leo but Jakati shot home his second goal for Bagalkot. Srinivas scored Leo's third goal. Vasu Sports Club (Hubli) beat Aristocrat Hockey Club 4-1. Sunil Jadhav notched up a brace while Maruthi Bellary and Praveen took Vasu to a 4-0 lead. Aristocrat's John Paul was the only successful scorer with his effort coming good in the 41st minute.
