MYSORE, OCT. 19. Mysore division retained the overall championship title with 194 points and the creditable show in the women's team events helped it outsmart the challenge put by Bangalore City which finished second with 186 points, on the concluding day of the three-day Dasara Sports meet held at the Chamundivihar stadium here on Tuesday. Bangalore City topped in the athletics events for both men and women by securing 61 and 68 points respectively, while Mysore finished second with 33 and 58 points. Three athletes, Vishal Nilgud and Jagadish (both of Bangalore City) and Shankar Dixit (Mysore division) shared the individual honours in the men's section with 10 points each. In the women's section, Natasha Sagar of Bangalore City with 16 points won the individual title. In swimming, V. Abhishek and Skanda R Ashwath (both of Bangalore City) shared the individual honours in the men's section while V. Tejashwini (Bangalore City) won the individual title in the women's section with 15 points. In the team events for men, Bangalore City topped with 106 points by winning the tennis, kabdddi, football, handball, hockey and table tennis titles. It also finished runner-up in basketball, ball-badminton, kho-kho and volleyball. Mysore took the second place with 84 points and won the gymnastics, badminton, basketball, ball-badminton and kho-kho titles. In the team events for women, Mysore topped with 110 points by winning the badminton, gymnastics, ball-badminton, basketball, handball, hockey, kho-kho, table-tennis and volleyball titles. Bangalore City finished second with 80 points. The three record breakers in this edition's athletics meet, Shankar Dixit (800m men), H.S. Santosh (shot put) and Reena Rodriques (shot put-women) were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000 each.

Women: 100m: 1. H.N. Jyothi (Bangalore City-12.03s); 100m Hurdles: Bagyajyothi R.S (Bangalore Rural-17:00.00s); 1500m: 1. H.S. Manjula (Mysore-4:58.08s); Discus: Reena Rodriques (Bangalore City-37.91m); Triple Jump: Natasha Sagar (Bangalore City-11.04m); 4x400m Relay: Mysore (4:10.03s).
Individual champion: Natasha Sagar (Bangalore City-16 points).
