NEW DELHI, OCT. 19. The four-day long Durga Puja celebrations being organised by the Aram Bagh Puja Samiti on Panchkuian Road-Mandir Marg crossing began here today. The sounds of six drummers, especially arranged from Nadia in West Bengal, heralded the arrival of Durga. Keeping in tune with the times, the Bhandara (Bhog Prashad) is also going to be modernised and elaborate arrangements are being made for thousands of devotees who throng the pandal to catch a glimpse of the goddess. The president of Aram Bagh Puja Samiti, S. Ratnam, said: "The greatest enjoyment and achievement of our puja is that different kinds of dishes are prepared for Mahasaptami. On-the-spot painting, fancy dress competition and musical chairs would also be organised."
