Partly cloudy

sky forecast

A partly cloudy sky, with maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 31 and 15 degree Celsius respectively, is the forecast for Wednesday. The city on Tuesday recorded a maximum temperature of 30.9 degree Celsius and a minimum of 15.2 degree Celsius. The relative humidity stood at 41 per cent.

Plea to power consumers

Service connections of those who did not pay electricity bills would be disconnected, warned Siraj Mohiuddin, Superintending Engineer, Hyderabad South Circle.

He appealed to consumers to pay bills so that the company could provide uninterrupted power supply and better services. Cash counters at EROs and section offices would be kept open during holidays also, the release said.

Holiday for museum

The Salar Jung Museum will remain closed on October 23 on account of `Vijaya Dasami', according to a press release.

Defence exam

The last date for submitting applications for taking the National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam-I for entry into the armed forces as Class-1 Commissioned Officers is November 16 and the examination will be held on April 10. Students desirous of obtaining forms and guidance can approach Officers' Academy, opposite Keyes High School or call 27834739 or 27820339 on any working day, according to a press release.

Music contests

The South Indian Cultural Association is conducting music competitions in Carnatic vocal for sub-juniors, juniors and seniors at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, King Koti, on October 24. The Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and the Hyderabad Round Table have come together to lay foundation stone for construction of classrooms at the Zilla Parishad School at Ameenpur village in Patancheru mandal.

The Coca-Cola India has contributed Rs. 3 lakhs for construction of two classrooms, according to Devendra Chawal, general manager of the company.
