Nehru FC is champion
MADURAI,
OCT. 20.
Nehru Football Club emerged champion in the Madurai District Football Association second division super league defeating Latha Madhavan Polytechnic College 3-1 in the last match here on Wednesday.
Kumaresan, Parthiban and Nasser scored for Nehru FC and Suman for Latha Madhavan Polytechnic College.
Sports Hostel drew 1-1 with Vikram Engineering College in another match to finish runner-up. Rajesh Kanna scored for Sports Hostel and Mohamed Azaruddin scored for Vikram Engineering College.
Final standings: 1. Nehru Football Club (7 pts); 2. Sports Hostel (4); 3. Latha Madhavan Polytechnic College (2), Vikram Engineering College (2). — Our Correspondent
