Hayden hits Kerala backwaters
KOCHI,
OCT. 20.
Taking time off from cricket, Australian opener Matthew Hayden is enjoying a rendezvous with nature in Kerala.
Hayden, who arrived here on Tuesday from Chennai, immediately left for Alapuzha, which is criss-crossed by backwaters. He is on a private visit to rest and relax before the Nagpur Test begins on October 26.
The beauty of the lush green State and its palm-fringed backwaters had drawn him to the State, Hayden told reporters.
Hayden is expected to visit Peermedu in Idukki district on Wednesday and will leave Kerala on October 23 to join the rest of the team in Nagpur for the third Test. Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh is also in Kerala with a 38-member group of cheer leaders.
