BJP flays PSC decision

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 20. The BJP has described as unfortunate the Kerala Public Service Commission's decision to conduct examinations on Durgashtami on October 21.

The State president of the party, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, said in a statement today that it was tantamount to questioning the belief and customs of thousands of applicants. This year the Pooja festival was supposed to begin today.

Reading and writing were forbidden till Vijayadasami day. The PSC's decision would lead to the indirect violation of this custom.
