`Popularise Siddha medicine'

CHENNAI,
OCT. 20.
The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Panabaka Lakshmi, who inspected the Central Siddha Research Institute and Capt. Srinivasa Drug Research Institute for Ayurveda, here, called for strengthening the Siddha system of medicine.
Efforts should be made to popularise Siddha, one of the oldest traditional systems of medicine, among the masses, Ms. Lakshmi said.
She also underlined the need to promote research activities to meet the drug standards for both streams — Siddha and Ayurveda, assuring that the Government would provide funds and infrastructure to strengthen these institutions.
