Cap Gemini opens Bangalore centre

BANGALORE: Cap Gemini India (CGI), privately held subsidiary of the Paris based technology and outsourcing services consultant, Cap Gemini, said on Wednesday it started operations here, its second centre after Mumbai. CGI had some 2,000 staff, mostly in Mumbai. The Bangalore centre could hold600 employees, whom the company would use to "ramp up business around applications management services.'' Gilles Taldu, Cap Gemini's global delivery manager said. Cap Gemini had selected India as its core offshore location, thanks to highly talented, cost-effective and English-speaking software engineers.
