CHENNAI, OCT. 21. P.S. Nataraja Sarma, bridge player, writer and administrator, passed away here on Wednesday. He was 89. A chemist by profession, Sarma was a popular figure in the world of competitive bridge not only as a player for the Mylapore Club but also as an efficient organiser of tournaments. A former president of the Chennai District Bridge Association, Sarma wrote extensively and authored a book, One Trick Short, published by the International Bridge World. He was also the founder editor of the Indian Bridge Magazine, and a long time columnist for The Hindu. Sarma wrote on various other subjects as well. His interests included music and gardening. He is survived by four sons and a daughter.
