MADURAI, OCT. 23. M.S.S. Wakfboard College, Madurai, won the overall championship with a tally of 37 points in men's section and retained the Anna Bathi shield in the three-day Madurai Kamaraj University inter-collegiate athletic meet, which concluded at Police Centenary stadium here on Friday. P.M.T. College, Usilampatti, finished second with 29 points. In women's section, V.V. Vanniaperumal College, Virudhunagar, won the overall championship with a tally of 32 points and claimed the Mother Anonciate trophy. Standard Fireworks Rajarathinam College, Sivakasi, finished second with 24 points. The results (winners only): Men: 100m: 1. S. Karthick (MSSWB) 11.28s; 400m: 1. C. Sornapandi (Vivekananda College) 52.81s;800m: 1. K. Kathiresan (Yadava) 2:00;10,000m: 1. C. Muthuraja 36:08s; Triple jump: 1. Venkatesan (MSSWB) 13.19m; Javelin: 1. R. Veeramani (HKRH, Uthamapalayam) 51.74m; 4x100m relay: 1. P.M.T. College, Usilampatti 46.13s. Individual champion: C. Muthuraja (Sourashtra College) 16 pts.
Women: 100m: 1. S. Kalaivani (SSA College, Devakottai) 13.57s; 400m: 1. R. Devi (LDC MDU) 1:07.50s; 1500m: 1. K. Shanthi Abirami (APA-W, Palani) 5:34:22s; Triple jump: 1. S. Kalaivani 10.19m; 4x100m relay: 1. VVV College, Virudhunagar, 54.81s. Individual champion: S. Kalaivani (Sri Sevugan Annamalai College, Devakottai) 18 pts.
