BANGALORE, OCT. 23. BEL Colony Youth Association `B' put down a spirited challenge from ITC Sports Club, defeating it 5-3 in a Group `B' match in the Karnataka State Hockey Association's `C' division league here on Saturday. At half-time, the winner led 3-2. Two quick goals by Daniel (eighth minute) and Sampath Kumar (10th) put BCYA in the lead. Later Prateek struck the first of his two goals in the 13th minute to strengthen BCYA's position. Pramod Kumar and later, Prabhakar (35th) cut the deficit for ITC. Prateek struck again the 54th minute and Sashi followed suit five minutes later to complete the tally for BCYA. Ajay converted a short corner for ITC to reduce the margin. On Friday, Maratha Light Infantry mowed down Bangalore Youths 10-0. Prashanth Karketa and Dananjay scored three goals apiece for MLI, whose other scorers were Sandeep Kumar (2), Naveen Lakra and Ekka.
