NUVEM (GOA), OCT. 23. The third leg of the JK Tyre National Karting championship will be staged at the hill-top track of Nuvem here on Sunday. A large field of 53 hopefuls was busy doing the qualifying laps here on Saturday. The big attraction for the seniors is the grand prize of a Corsa Sail car along with other incentives. Contestants from Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai and Goa were stepping on the accelerator hoping to make the final eight contestants for the Goa round. The other events to be held simultaneously will be the cadet class, the junior class and the ladies class for which the starting grid had already been decided earlier in the evening. Among the seniors hoping to make the starting grid are last year's winner Ameya Walavalkar (also a national winner at this centre), Rayomand Banajee, Deepak Paul Chinnappa, Ashutosh Kale. Former National Karting champion Ameya Walvalkar had clocked the fastest timing at around the half way stage, clocking 30.88 seconds for the lap. The starting list in the Cadet class: Nikhil Kashyap, Mohit Ahuja, Keith De Souza, Aditya Makawana,Pratik Jain and Siddarth De. The starting list in the Junior class: Saran Vikram, Akshay Hede,Dishali Patel, Akshay Makwana, Keerthi Chinnappa, Sawan Sathyanarayan, Brendan Das and Animesh Damani. Finalists in the ladies' class: Sonia Moraes, Dishali Patel, Keerthi Chinnappa, Shivonne Gracious, Marylene Costa Pereira and Shireen Moraes.
