MADURAI, OCT.23. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 30.2 degree Celsius and a minimum of 23.4 degree Celsius. The Madurai Airport registered a rainfall of 1.8 mm in the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 a.m.

Chain snatched

J. Kasturi (57) of Ganapathy Nagar was robbed of her gold chain at Villapuram today. According to the police, Kasturi was walking to a bus stop in the area when the robbery took place.

Driver waylaid

A three-member gang robbed a lorry driver of Rs.25,500 on the Bypass Road near Tirupparankunram on Friday. The police said the driver, M. Sivasami (31), and the cleaner, S. Renganathan (32) of Salem, stopped for a break during the early hours, when the gang robbed them. The lorry was going to Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh) from Tuticorin.

Flight timings

The timings of Air Deccan flights in the Madurai-Chennai sector will be as follows from October 25: Flight number DN111 will leave Chennai at 5.20 p.m. and arrive at Madurai at 6.35 p.m. In the return direction, it will leave Madurai at 6.55 p.m. and reach Chennai at 8.10 p.m.
