Indian Bank downs Parry RC

KOCHI, OCT. 24. Jesu Babu (72) and off-spinner N.P.Rajesh (4-33) helped Indian Bank (Chennai) down city-mate Parry RC by four wickets in the opening main phase match of the 54th Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Sunday.

Six teams have been divided into two groups with the two pool winners entering the final.

The scores: Parry RC, Chennai 205 in 41.5 overs (Surender Doss 59, Karuna Murthy 33, Sathish Kumar 32, N.P.Rajesh four for 33) lost to Indian Bank, Chennai 206 for six in 41.4 overs (Jesu Babu 72, Suresh 41, Sathish 48, Sathish Kumar four for 23).

The groupings: Group A: Parry RC, Southern Railway, Indian Bank (all Chennai)

Group B: Swantons CC (Kochi), SBT (Thiruvananthapuram), IOB (Chennai).— Our Sports Reporter
