THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 24. M.Rahul Manohar of Thrissur won the Kerala State under-19 boy's chess title at the YMCA hall here on Sunday. The seven round tournament produced a three way tie as Rahul, G.S.Sreejith and C.Sachin finished with 5.5 points each. But Rahul won on his better progressive score (24) than G.S.Sreejith, who came second (23.5). C.Sachin finished third with progressive score of 22.5.
M.Rahul Manohar (Tsr) 5.5 points (Progressive score 24), 2. G. S. Sreejith (Tvm) 5.5 pts (23.5), 3. C. Sachin (Knr) 5.5 pts (22.5), 4. K.Sujeesh (Knr) 5 pts (20), 5. Tonis Thomas (Ktm) 5 pts (18), 6. S.U. Sabari Nath (Tvm) 4.5 pts (19.5).
