Christ College (Irinjalakuda) pipped Thrissur district-mate Sree Kerala Varma 4-3 via the tiebreaker and won the men's football title in the seventh Kerala College Games at the Corporation Stadium here on Sunday evening. The battle between the two Calicut University teams was level 1-1 at the end of the regulation period. St. Xavier's College (Aluva), thriving on State star Simi Jose Kavalakat's neat performance, won its maiden women's basketball title. St Xavier's defeated Government Brennen (Thalassery) 60-49 in the final tonight.
Basketball: Men: semifinals: St. Berchman's, Changanassery, 64 (Monish Wilson 25, Siju Kuriakose 18) bt MCC, Kzd, 59 (Sreekanth 19, Mobin Thomas 18, Rahul Chandran 10).
