Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, OCT. 24. The sky on Monday will be partly cloudy with one or two spells of shower or thundershowers. On Sunday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Nungambakkam were 31.8 and 22.5 degrees Celsius. At Meenambakkam, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 31.7 and 23.4 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels stood at 82 per cent and 84 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Ayapakkam, Kellys, Koyambedu, Rengarajapuram, T. Nagar, Royapuram, Ramapuram, Sowcarpet East, Usman Road, Pulianthope, Kadaperi and Arumbakkam between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday for maintenance work.

Free camp

Donation

Sixty-nine graduate teachers of JNS Jain Vidhyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, JNS Jain Vidhyalaya Primary School and JNS Jain Vidhyalaya Primary and Kindergarten wing have donated Rs. 26,400 for the renovation of the Senate House in the University of Madras, Marina campus.

Jaigopal Garodia Photojournalism Academy held its first convocation last Thursday. Eighteen students received certificates.

Kolu festival

As part of Navarathri celebrations, Seetha Kingston House Matriculation Higher Secondary School organised a `kolu' last week. Dance competitions, bhajans, rangoli and Carnatic music competitions were also held.
