Sir, — The change of guard in the BJP became inevitable because of the simmering differences among the second rung of its leaders. But this alone will not restore the credibility of the BJP. It should discard its Hindutva plank.

Sir, — Politics based on religion has only a limited appeal. Mr. Advani can be trusted not to overplay this card but to concentrate on issues that really touch the lives of the people.
