Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, OCT. 25. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over north interior Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Tambaram, Kumbakonam (Thanjavur dt.) and Mylaudy (Kanyakumari dt.) 5 each, Chennai Airport, Parangipettai, Nannilam and Kodavasal (both Thiruvarur dt.), Nagapattinam and Minicoy 3 each, Chidambaram (Cuddalore dt.), Mayladuthurai (Nagapattinam dt.) Kanyakumari, Vedaranyam, Papanasam (Thanjavur dt.), Radhapuram (Tirunelveli dt.), Sattankulam (Tuticorin dt.), Sivagangai, Bhimdol (West Godavari dt.), Palamner (Chittur dt.) and Moncompu (Alapuzha dt.) 2 each. Karwar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius in the region and Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather will prevail over north interior Karnataka.

FORECAST for Chennai city and neighbourhood (valid until Wednesday morning): Partly cloudy with one or two showers or thundershowers.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: No significant change.
