RAIPUR, OCT. 25. A magisterial probe has been ordered into the death of a tribal youth who consumed poison before surrendering to the police in a rape case. Mannu Kadopi (25) of Mich village yesterday came to Manpur police station and said he wanted to surrender and had also consumed poison, Rajnandgaon District Superintendent of Police Vivekanand told PTI over phone. Kadopi told the police that he was accused of raping a tribal girl in May last and wanted to surrender. He was rushed to Manpur government hospital but was referred to Rajnandgaon district hospital where he was declared brought dead. Manpur police had filed a chargesheet against him on September 10 in the rape case. Vivekanand said police recovered some love letters and a suicide note from the deceased which said ``he wanted to end his life after failing to get his love''. Rajnandgaon district collector Ganesh Shankar Mishra ruled out any foul play and said inquest and post-mortem confirmed there was no internal or external injury. -PTI
