Metro underground section trial begins

NEW DELHI, OCT. 25. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today began the first of its train trials in the underground section of the upcoming new line from Delhi University to Kashmere Gate.

The first of many trials, the underground section of DMRC is provided with a 25 KV overhead rigid current collection system that is described as the first of its kind in the country. These trials will include integrated testing of signalling, electrical systems, rolling stock, civil works as well as fire and safety measures. The trials are likely to continue for a month.
