NEW DELHI, OCT. 25. An eight-year-old boy died under highly mysterious circumstances in a private clinic after being administered an injection at Preet Vihar in East Delhi on Sunday night. In another incident reported from New Ashok Nagar in East Delhi, a 32-year-old man died a few hours after being given administered an injection by a nurse in the absence of a doctor. According to the police, Bhim Singh, a peon with the Life Insurance Corporation living in Preet Vihar, had gifted a bicycle to his son, Himanshu, a student of Class II at Navyug School, as birthday gift on October 15. A couple of days later, Himanshu apparently fell off the bicycle and developed a sprain in his leg. Bhim Singh took his son to Malik Radix Healthcare, a private clinic in Preet Vihar, on October 21. After examining Himanshu, the doctors at the clinic gave him some tablets and asked him to return the next day. On October 22, Himanshu was again given some medicines and put through some tests. In the meantime, while Himanshu's condition eased, the pain did not completely vanish. However, he had resumed riding his bicycle. Himanshu developed problems again on Sunday. His father called up the doctor who asked him to bring Himanshu to the clinic. The doctor gave the boy an injection after which he began feeling cold. "The doctor said it was because of the cold weather and that his son would be alright and asked me to take him back," said the distraught father. However, Himanshu did not recover and had to be taken back to the clinic in the night. The doctors tried to revive him for about 15 minutes after which Himanshu was declared dead. The police were subsequently informed and a case was registered. The police said any arrests would be made only after they get the post-mortem report and the report from the committee indicates medical negligence. In the other incident at New Ashok Nagar, Manoj, who used to drive a Maruti van ferrying students of Sewa Bharti School in New Kondli, complained of chest pain today around 11-30 a.m. His friend, Nand Kishore, took him to Bansal Nursing Home in New Ashok Nagar. However, no doctor was present in the clinic. A nurse then allegedly gave Manoj some injection. Soon, Manoj's condition worsened. The clinic staff asked Nand Kishore to take his friend to Metro Hospital in Noida. But the patient's condition continued to deteriorate and he was declared brought dead at Metro Hospital. The New Ashok Nagar police have registered a case and would be taking legal action after the post-mortem report.
