PUNE, OCT. 27 Sixth seed Thassa Vitayaviroj of Thailand had to pull out all her resources to quell the spirited challenge of qualifier Indian junior Vandana Murali 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the $10,000 NECC ITF Women's Tennis Tournament here on Wednesday. In the best fare of the day the, Tamil Nadu lass Vandana Murali started off in a stormy fashion by breaking Vitayaviroj in opening and ninth games to wrap up the first set 6-3 in a jiffy. The second set saw Vitayaviroj break Murali in the eight games to level up score to one set all. A visibly tired Vandana, however, caved in the third set with an inspired Vitayaviroj breaking her opponent's serves with impunity to canter home a winner in 110 minutes winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to make it to the quarterfinals.
