Couple dies in

road mishap

A sexagenarian couple of Hayathnagar met with a tragic end when the moped they were travelling on was hit by a DCM van from behind on the Gaddiannaram road on Wednesday evening.

D. Surender Rao (65) and his wife, Mani (60), died on the spot. The couple were proceeding towards Dilshukhnagar when the mishap occurred.

In another accident, S. Venugopal Reddy (34), of Brindavan Colony, died on the spot when a Tata Sumo hit the motorcycle he was riding at RK Puram on Wednesday.

Man found murdered

An autorickshaw driver, Syed Sharfuddin alias Baba (22), was done to death by a group of persons under the Rajendranagar police limits in the early hours of Wednesday. He was stabbed at least five times and his throat slit. The body was found near Sikh Chawni.

It is learnt that Baba was an eyewitness to the murder of another autorickshaw driver, Aslam Khan, six months ago. One, Kazim Ali, and his gang allegedly murdered khan. Following this, Ali and his gang reportedly decided to eliminate Baba. The accused were allegedly involved in several land disputes and were residing at MM Pahidi and Khayyam Nagar.

Succumbs

to burns

A housewife, K. Swarna (20) of Kishenbagh, who reportedly set herself ablaze at her residence on October 23, died on Tuesday night. She was married to one Anil Kumar, six months ago. It was alleged that Anil Kumar did not allow Swarna to visit her parents for Dasara, due to which she resorted to the extreme step.

Goldsmith

ends life

A goldsmith, Sunil Das (45) of Mandi Kaman, who reportedly consumed acid on Tuesday died on Wednesday morning. A native of West Bengal, he had come to the city two months ago. Domestic problems were said to be reason for his act.

Bar dancers arrested

Sleuths of the Central Zone Task Force team raided the PMC Bar and Restaurant at RTC crossroads and arrested seven dancers for making obscene gestures and collecting tips from customers. An amount of Rs. 360 was seized. The accused were handed over to Chikkadpally police for further action.
