The maximum and minimum temperatures at Palam were 29.1 and 16.6 degrees Celsius respectively. Found dead
According to the police, Anmol Kumar, a resident of Preet Vihar, had left his home on October 23 in his Santro car but did not return. His wife got a missing report lodged at Preet Vihar police station the next day. A day later a case of kidnapping was registered. However, there were no ransom calls. On Tuesday night, Ghaziabad police found a body stacked in a gunny bag and lying near a gutter in Dadri. A Santro car, which turned out to be that of Anmol, was found parked nearby. Anmol's family was then contacted and they identified his body. He had been stabbed several times.
Nabbed
According to the police, Shambhu, working for a money-changer in Chandni Chowk, was accosted by two persons during the day. They told him that they were police officers and that they had to frisk him. When Shambhu agreed, the duo told him that they wanted to frisk him in Red Fort. But Shambhu argued that they could as well go to the nearby police post in Ballimaran instead of going all the way to Red Fort. However, the duo did not agree and seem to be getting jittery. Shambhu then realised that the duo were not genuine. He then raised an alarm which alerted the people nearby and the duo was caught. The police were subsequently informed. Those arrested have been identified as Radhey Shyam, a civil defence warden of Mayur Vihar, and Sanjay Kumar, civil defence warden from Trilokpuri.
Booked
Following a tip-off, the police had conducted a raid at C-18, gali No. 3, New Modern Shahdara, on Tuesday and Rachit Gupta, a resident of Vivek Vihar in East Delhi, was arrested. At his instance, the police recovered 490 packets of different types of crackers. Interrogation of the accused revealed that he had applied for a licence to sell crackers but had failed to get one. However, he, in a bid to make profits on occasion of Diwali, began buying crackers from several places in the Capital and stocking them at his hideout.
Robbery
According to the police, two young men came to the house of Joginder Pal, a resident of C-1 Janakpuri, around 10-30 a.m. They were armed with a country-made revolver and a knife. The duo forced Neelam Chowdhary, Joginder's wife, and her mother-in-law, Janaki Devi, into a room and locked them from outside. They then managed to lay their hands on cash and jewellery worth Rs. 70,000 and escaped.
