Cloudy day, rain possible
The morning is likely to be misty and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 29 and 16 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung and Palam respectively. The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Thursday was 29.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum 15.7degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures at Palam were 28.5 and 16.9 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum relative humidity at Safdarjung and Palam stood at 90 per cent and 80 per cent, while the minimum was 46 per cent and 38 per cent respectively.
CDs seized
According to the police, a team of the Intellectual Property Rights Section of the EOW raided a hideout at Jahangirpuri in North-West Delhi on October 25 and arrested two persons, Rajender and Gopal Sharma. A total of 873 pirated VCDs, 495 MP3, eight CD writers, 1,200 inlay cards and 50 blank CDs were recovered from the hideout. In another raid at Palika Bazar in Connaught Place on Wednesday, the police arrested Sunil Malhotra and recovered 679 pirated DVDs, 17 pornographic DVDs, 250 MP3 and 562 inlay cards from his shop. At his instance, another shop in Palika Bazar was raided and accused Jitender was arrested. The police recovered 203 pirated MP3 and 190 pornographic VCDs from his shop. In the past month-and-a-half, the police have recovered over 20,000 pirated discs and 80 CD writers and arrested 19 people. The over all cost of the recovered materials is around Rs. 3.5 crores.
Two arrested
A 22-year-old man was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police from near Jaipur Golden Hospital in North-West Delhi. The suspect, later identified as Bimlesh Yadav, a resident of Vaishali in Bihar, was arrested when he appeared on the scene around 8 p.m. One kg smack was recovered from his possession. Bimlesh had procured the smack from somebody in Vaishali and was looking to sell it to his clients in the Capital. In another case, Bajrul Qamar, a resident of Badayun in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the New Delhi police from near Shivaji bus terminal around 6-30 p.m. He was found in possession of 400 gm of smack. Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered in both the cases and further investigations are on.
Found dead
According to the police, the body of Vinod, a resident of Madangir in Ambedkar Nagar, was found in a park this morning. There were injury marks on his head. A case of murder has been registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station and further investigations are on.
