KURNOOL, OCT. 29. The Minister for Lift Irrigation, M. Mareppa, has said the State Government is contemplating to constitute a committee to look into the problems of Valmikis in the State. He was addressing meeting on Thursday held to celebrate Valmiki jayanti. Mr. Mareppa promised to take up the issue of Valmikis to admit them to ST list with the State Government. The MP, Kotla Jayasuryaprakasa Reddy, supported the demand and promised to help them at the Centre. The district coordinator, Bhavani Prasad and the district president, B.Y. Ramaiah and others were present. Earlier, the former IPS officer, T. Srinivasulu, performed bhoomi puja for the Valmiki Bhavan on the outskirts of the city. A procession was taken out from Lalita Kala Samithi to Zilla Parishad hall. The ZP chairman, Bathina Venkatramudu, also spoke.
