VIJAYAWADA, OCT. 29. Aditya Vikas clinched the FIDE-rating round robin chess tournament title at the Chenupati Ramakotaiah Kreeda Pranganam here on Friday. Tied for the top spot on 10 points with Chandrahawsa, the Koya principle was applied to break the deadlock. For the shy, seventh standard student of Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad, his victory over Harish Sharma in the 12th round was the most satisfying of the meet.

12th round: Aditya Vikas 9 bt Harish Sharma 9, Sambasiva Rao 4 drew with P.V.V. Seshu 5.5, Abhilash Reddy 5.5 lost to T.Gowtham 3.5, K.V.K. Karthik 6 lost to A.R. Priya 4.5, Kanuri Tejaswi 7.5 bt Vijay Sai Krishna 5.5, K. Bhanu Priya 0.5 lost to I. Ramya Krishna 8, Koneru Chandrahawsa 9.5 bt Y.V.K. Chakravarthy 6.
