NEW DELHI, OCT. 29. Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, scored a resounding 5-0 victory over DAV Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, to move into the semifinals of the 33rd Oriental Bank Nehru junior hockey tournament here on Friday. Parmod Dhir (2), Daler Singh, Prem Kumar and Paramjeet Singh scored the goals for the Jalandhar team that led 3-0 at halftime. In another quarterfinal, Town High School, Sundergarh, beat St. Ignatius High School, Gumla, 5-4 in the tiebreaker after the teams were locked 1-1 at the end of the regulation period. Sunil Kujur equalised for the Sundergarh team in the 31st minute after Samir Bhengra had put the Jharkhand team ahead in the sixth minute. In the tiebreak, Nuel Tirkey, Banama Xess, Dharamdas Bengra, Manoj Ekka and Kishore Lakra covnerted for the Sundergarh team. Alen Bhengra, Deepak Soreng, Anand Tigga, Gaindra Tigga converted for the Gumla team while Patras Nag failed to find the target.
