No disrespect intended to Sir Kroto: Rosaiah
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
OCT. 29.
The Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, has contested the view expressed by I. Krishna Murthy, general secretary, Asia Education Forum, regarding the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's non-participation in the Birla Planetarium function yesterday attended by the Nobel laureate, Sir Harold Kroto.
Speaking to reporters here today, the Minister said that the Government had no intention to disrespect people, much less personalities like Sir Kroto.
Kanda clarifies
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda, justified his action in leaving the BM Birla Science Research Centre before commencement of the function to present an award to the Nobel laureate as he was called for an urgent meeting with the Home Minister on a very important issue. He duly informed Dr. Kroto and the Governor about his inability to participate in the function.
