MADURAI, OCT.30. The founder-president of the All-India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam, N. Sethuraman, has condemned aping of western culture, which poses a threat to Tamil culture and language. Presiding over the valedictory of the two-day conference on Tamil music organised by the `Pongu Tamil Valarchi Arakattalai' here recently, he said many could not discern the intrinsic merits of Tamil folk songs owing to the `western cultural invasion.' He called upon like-minded persons to join hands to prevent the linguistic and cultural degradation.
