PONDICHERRY, OCT. 30. The Joint Director of School Education, R. Vanjulavalli, on Friday said that all government and privately-managed educational institutions in the Union Territory would remain closed on November 1 (Monday) in view of the celebration of the golden jubilee of the de facto merger (freedom) of Pondicherry. The Chief Minister had declared November 1 a public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
