Recreation centre inaugurated
Speaking at the inauguration of a recreation centre-cum-library in Mayur Vihar Phase II, Ms Dikshit said that in recent years there had been a spurt in development in the Capital's trans-Yamuna area and declared that her Government was committed to bringing more infrastructural and civic facilities in the area. Apart from being committed to the overall development of the Capital as an international city, she said, the Government was especially conscious of bringing areas of East Delhi and Outer Delhi at par with the most developed parts of the city. The recreation centre-cum-library has been constructed at a cost of Rs 63 lakhs from funds attotted by the Trans-Yamuna Development Board. A two-storey structure, it consists of a conference hall, library and public utilities and is expected to serve the social and community needs of the people of the area.
`Medico Masti' organised
The Heart Care Foundation of India president, K.K. Aggarwal, advised doctors to write their prescriptions legibly and avoid recommending drugs with side effects. The medical community was asked to take up meditation and yoga and also recommend the same to their patients.
Meritorious students honoured
`Padyatra' for clean city
A large number of NDMC school children, officials of the NDMC and office-bearers of residential, market and trading associations and non-government organisations will take part in the yatra. The yatra will pass through Shaheed Matbar Singh Marg, R.K. Ashram Marg, Gole Market, Bhai Veer Singh Marg and Baird Lane Market.

tribal artists
Instituted by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust, the awards, carrying a year-long monthly stipend of Rs.1,500, will be given to Durga Bai Vyam for painting, Badki Bai and Sanjay Patel for dance. All the three are from Madhya Pradesh. The other two awardees are Mathew Sasa of New Delhi for pottery and Kshetrimayum Vedmani Devi of Manipur for research on tribal culture. The one-time financial grant of Rs.15,000 for promoting tribal art and culture will be given to North Gujarat's Sagar Academi and Pragati Pratishthan Muk-badhir Kendra of Jawhar in Thane.
