BANGALORE, OCT. 30. Two women committed suicide in separate incidents reported from Vijayanagar and Gangammanagudi police station limits in the city. The police said that Susheelamma (43), wife of a police sub-inspector, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Pattegarpalya around 8 a.m. on Saturday. The police said Susheelamma was depressed after her daughter, Netra, ended her life a few months ago. The Vijayanagar police have registered a case. In another incident, Bindu Lazer (23), mother of a six-month-old baby, hanged herself at her house on Velankani Road in Gangammanagudi police station limits on Friday night. The Gangammanagudi police have registered a case.
Vehicles recovered
The Ramamurthynagar police on Friday arrested two persons on charges of theft and recovered from them a multi-utility vehicle, an autorickshaw, and car accessories, together worth Rs. 9.50 lakhs. The police said that the arrested persons, R. Jayasheelan (25) of Vijinapura and Raju (37) of Holenarsipura in Hassan district, had stolen the vehicles from Banaswadi and Ramamurthynagar police station limits. In another case, the Madivala police on October 26 arrested Srinivas (25) and Manu (25) of Hosur Road and recovered from them eight motorcycles worth Rs. 2.50 lakhs. The accused had allegedly stolen the motorcycles from Madivala, MICO Layout, and Tilaknagar police station limits.
Arrested
The Madivala police on Thursday arrested three persons on charges of robbery and recovered from them a gold chain worth Rs.10,000. The accused had allegedly waylaid, assaulted and robbed Ajith Kumar of a gold chain, cash, and credit cards at 2nd Stage, BTM Layout, on October 4, the police said. The names of the arrested persons were given as Mukesh (18) of Koramangala, Vimal (18) of Old Madivala and Harish (18) of Madivala.
