Meet to resolve impasse

at CMC

KOCHI, OCT. 30. The Cooperative Medical College students and their parents have called a meeting on Sunday to discuss the issue of indefinite closure of the college. The meeting, to be held at the Adhyapaka Bhavan at 11 a.m. will also discuss the management's action to dissolve the students' union. The college management yesterday issued a notice dissolving the students' union as part of the disciplinary action for boycotting classes and defaming the college and the management. The students had resorted to strikes earlier demanding better facilities at the teaching hospital. This led the Cooperative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), under which the medical college had come up, to close the college indefinitely.
