PATHANAMTHITTA, OCT. 31. The first all-India management meet, Kalari, jointly hosted by the Mar Athanasius College for Advanced Studies, Thiruvalla (Macfast) and the Changanassery-based Berchman's Institute of Management Studies (BIMS), will be held at the Macfast complex on the Pushpagiri Road in Thiruvalla from November 5 to 7. The Macfast principal, Fr. Abraham Mulamoottil and director, Dr. P. K. Abraham, said here on Sunday that the three-day management meet was organised in association with the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) and 15 top business schools in the country would participate in it. According to them, a faculty interface and a free-software exhibition will be the major attraction of the meeting. Fifty free software products in information technology and bioinformatics will be on show at the exhibition. Products on video, audio, animation, office automation, database, compliers, mathematical and scientific applications, biotechnology research products, educational tools, accounting packages, web services products and digital signature would be on display, Fr. Mulamoottil said. Dr. Abraham said the Macfast has launched a major project of the Department of Rural Development for providing urban amenities in rural areas. He said the first phase of the project involving preparation of project reports on the infra-structure development of 10 cluster villages in Pathanamthitta district would be completed in the next two months. Fr. Mulamoottil said the Macfast would sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Green Home, a U.S.-based online store for environmental products, on November 5. He said the blessing of the new Mother Teresa Chapel at the Macfast complex would be held on November 5. The Bishop of Thiruvalla diocese of the Malankara Catholic Church, Isaac Mar Cleemis, the senior Bishop, Gevarghese Mar Themothios, and the Muvattupuzha Bishop, Thomas Mar Coorilos, will jointly bless the chapel at 7 a.m. Launching of the Macfast Technologies and inauguration of the newly built modern college auditorium will also be held during the three-day meet.
