KOCHI, OCT. 31. Eighteen years after it came into being, the Vypeen-Ernakulam Bridges Action Council has been dissolved and replaced by the Goshree Action Council. The historic Council, which played a major role in speeding up the construction of the trio of Goshree bridges, was today formally wound up at a public meeting held at Kalamukku, the landing spot of the third Goshree bridge. Majnu Komath, who was the convenor of the Bridges Action Council, was chosen the Chairman of the new Council. It was an afternoon when memories came flooding back. The Action Council members and the people in the islands, who have benefited from the Goshree bridges remembered those who had departed from among them. The names of the departed who were closely linked to the Bridges Action Council were written on a big board. The board was garlanded and lamps lit as the names of the departed were called out. They include E.K. Nayanar, former Chief Minister of Kerala.
