Asahi plans further expansion
NEW DELHI: The board of directors of Asahi India on Saturday approved the company's expansion plans that would include setting up of a float glass plant in Uttaranchal. The board will meet again shortly to approve the project cost and schedule. The plant will have a capacity of 700 tonnes per day (tpd) and will be larger than the existing plant near Mumbai, which has a capacity of 500 tpd. The company feels that the new plant should pay rich dividends in future. Its second automotive glass plant in Chennai is going to be operational shortly, on time and cost.
