CHENNAI, NOV. 1. Students of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Law College at Chengalpattu have urged the Bar Council of India (BCI) to direct the university authorities to accommodate them in Chennai till the construction of a new complex is completed. In a memorandum to the BCI, they said it would be difficult to concentrate on their studies if construction work goes on nearby. They were referring to a university official's statement that Rs. 1.72 crores had been released for the construction of buildings. Pointing out that at least five first-year students had been given transfer to the Government Law College at Madurai and other places, they said they should also be allowed to transfer till the college was ready in all respects. The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu Chairman, R. Dhanapal Raj, said the Council had taken up the matter with the Law Minister, D. Jayakumar.
