MADURAI, NOV. 1. The Life Insurance Corporation of India today launched the `Jeevan Pramukh' policy, which targets those in the high-income group.

The LIC Senior Divisional Manager, R. J. Rajaraman, launched the policy here.

The policy is of an endowment type, with a limited payment of premium for a short term of three, four and five years.

It comes with features such as guaranteed additions at the rate of Rs.50 per thousand sum assured at the end of each policy year for the first five years, terminal bonuses and loan with 10.5 per cent interest, payable half yearly.

Mr. Rajaraman said the policy was ideal for non-resident Indians, serial artistes, producers and cine artistes, as the minimum sum assured was Rs.10 lakhs.

Further, there was a possibility of accumulating huge cash assets free from income tax for the entire policy term (with a short-duration premium payment).

Persons from 18 to 65 years could subscribe to this policy, and liquidity through loan was also available, he said.
