THRISSUR, NOV. 2. The allegations against the Industries Minister, P. K. Kunhalikutty, and the repeated attacks on mediapersons have created a situation that called for the resignation of the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, the Janata Dal State president, M. P. Veerendra Kumar, has said. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Veerendra Kumar said that the State had not faced such a bad situation so far. "The police protected Mr. Kunhalikutty at the Karippur airport on Monday, and did not take any step to prevent the attack on mediapersons. Is Mr. Chandy accountable to the people or to Mr. Kunhalikutty?'' he asked. The Janata Dal State president said newspaper owners should view the attacks on journalists seriously. "Such issues should involve the entire industry,'' he said.
