Britons `vote' for Kerry

By Hasan Suroor

LONDON, NOV. 2. If Britons had a vote in the U.S. presidential election, they would have voted for the Democratic candidate, John Kerry, judging from the strong anti-Bush mood reflected in snap polls across the country.

Asked by Sky TV how would they have voted if they were choosing the American President, 61 per cent plumped for Mr Kerry and only 39 per cent favoured George W. Bush.

The British media portrayed the election as the most significant political event of this century. "A Day That Will Decide the Fate of the World'', screamed the front-page of The Independent.
