BANGALORE, NOV. 2. The Asian Vascular Society will organise the Sixth International Conference here for three days from November 4. The conference will be inaugurated by the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on November 5. About 350 delegates (vascular and endovascular surgeons) from India and abroad will participate in the conference. Speaking to presspersons here, the chairman of the organising committee said that the conference would deal with diseases in blood vessels pertaining to the upper and lower extremities. It would also deal with vascular problems related to abdomen and neck. Clinical case presentations by surgical post graduate students, followed by a series of lectures by leading vascular surgeons from all over the would be made. A handbook on "Vascular Surgery" authored by young vascular surgeons would be released. About 250 papers would be presented and 60 posters would showcase interesting cases. Sessions on endovascular treatment, sessions devoted to vascular and sessions on vascular training for young surgeons would be the highlight of the event. A scientific expo would display various vascular related medical equipment, especially vascular grafts and stents.
