BANGALORE, NOV. 2. It is time for youngsters to get their brain cells buzzing at super speed. This is not a reference to end-of-term examinations; it is about The Hindu Young World Quiz 2004. The quiz will be held at 9.30 a.m. on November 5 at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Vyalikaval, here. There will be a regional round in the morning. As many as 723 teams (students from classes nine to 12) will compete in the preliminary rounds (from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m). The quiz will be a general one with audiovisual content. The preliminaries will involve a written round for all participants. This is to select six teams that will vie for the regional title. The regional winners will match wits with 10 winners from Hyderabad, Chennai, Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Vijayawada, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai and Coimbatore in the all-India finals to be held at 2.30 p.m. at the same venue. Actor Sudeep will distribute prizes to the winners at 4.30 p.m. While Eveready is the title sponsor, Britannia Industries, Canara Bank, Coca Cola, Dukes Chocolates, ITC Classmate Notebooks, Sify iWay, Competition Success Review and Reynolds are the national cosponsors. Ranga Rao & Sons, Sammy's Dreamland, ANTZ, Indo Nissin — Top Ramen, Hotel Atria, Taj Residency, GRS Fantasy Park, Ganjam Nagappa, Adiswar Marketing, Garden City College, HMT Watches, Karnataka Travels, Sagar Apollo, Oyzterbay, British Library, The Oberoi, Landmark and Roopa Publications are the regional sponsors.
